About the Artist

Reba White is an oil painter based in Huntsville, Alabama whose work is in observational practice and the traditions of classical realism. With a portfolio that includes wildlife, landscapes, portraiture, and florals, the artist’s primary focus centers on birds and the portraiture. These subjects are approached through discipline and a commitment to representing nature with clarity, sensitivity, and structural integrity.

From childhood Reba was interested in drawing and painting. She began pursuing painting seriously in 2009 while enjoying a full career in Business Marketing. Her studies include the BFA program at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in painting and drawing, as well as, taking private art lessons while attending UAH. With three years of the BFA behind her, this formal training was interrupted during the COVID-19 shutdowns. However, she continued to build on this foundation. In 2019, a decisive shift toward classical methodology led to ongoing studies with a contemporary Master artist based in Florence, Italy. For more than five years, his online atelier-informed training emphasizes traditional processes—careful drawing, controlled value relationships, and deliberate paint handling—rooted in the practices of the Old Masters.

Influenced by painters such as William Bouguereau and Eugene de Blaas, Reba works exclusively in oil, employing a methodical approach that prioritizes accuracy of drawing, subtle modeling of form, and a refined sensitivity to light. Her work reflects a continued dedication to classical technique while remaining attentive to direct observation in contemporary subjects. Currently, paintings are represented through two galleries in the southeastern United States, supporting an active and growing studio practice.
